Originally from: Jackson, Tennessee
Education background: B.A. in Christian Studies from Union University, Jackson, TN • M.C.E from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary
Ministry background: Student Minister at Garland Baptist Church, Covington, TN, 2004-2007 • Student Minister at Bellevue Arlington, Arlington, TN, 2009-2010
I started working for CFBC: September 14, 2010
My family: My beautiful wife, Brittany and son Sawyer
My role at CFBC: I plan and coordinate Bible studies, trips and other activities for middle school students.
Personal story: I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was six years old. For the next six years I doubted the decision I had made. When I was twelve I believe my salvation was “nailed down”—I understood then that God had saved me when I was six. I surrendered to full-time Christian service when I was seventeen. Most of my significant spiritual progress took place while I was a student. I look back now and see that God had been preparing me to work with students. I love every minute of it!
Recent books I’ve enjoyed: The Knowledge of the Holy by A.W. Tozer and The Reason for God by Timothy Keller
Most fulfilling part of my job: Seeing a student “get it”—when a student begins to understand that the Christian life is so much more than going to church or following a set of rules
Places of service available in my ministry: Student Ministry is always in need of Bible Fellowship teachers, leaders to go to camp, or adults to help with weekly activities. If you want to serve, we’ll find a place for you!
Spiritual gifts: Administration, teaching and service
My hobbies: Sports, hunting, movies, hanging out with my wife
I hope heaven includes: Sweet Tea!
The smartest thing I’ve ever done: This is an easy one…asking Brittany to marry me
The best way to pray for me: Pray that I fix my eyes on the Author and Perfecter of our faith as I lead my family and ministry
