I started working for CFBC: March 21, 1999
My family: My wife Melinda and my children Zachary, Kelsey (and her husband Dane) and Jeremiah (and his wife Darlene)
My role at CFBC: I serve as your Associate Pastor of Missions and Administration. I have the privilege of working with a missions team that formulates and coordinates our church’s mission efforts around the world and working with other lay leadership that deals with financial and facilityissues.
Personal story: Having been raised in a Christian home, I became aware of my sin and responded to God’s call to repent and turn to Him. As an adult, I worked in the business world for fifteen years and then felt God’s call again, and it was to enter into the ministry. It was a huge adjustment, but God has been my family’s strength.
Favorite book of the Bible: Acts—I am encouraged to see how God used individuals to spread His kingdom.
Recent books I’ve enjoyed: Lincoln on Leadership by Donald Phillips, The Unquenchable Flame: Discovering the Heart of the Reformation by Michael Reeves and Conversational Evangelism: How to Listen and Speak So You Can Be Heard by Norman and David Geisler
Most fulfilling part of my job: Watching God draw people from all over the world to Him
Places of service available in my ministry: You can pray for our mission partners and our church’s mission projects; you can get involved with a mission project through our church; you can give to feed the hungry or share the gospel through our World Missions Offering.
Spiritual gifts: Diligence and Perseverance
My hobbies: Fishing, riding bikes & Sudoku
I hope heaven includes: Cool fall mornings, Appalachian Mountains with beautiful fall colors and people whom I have shared the gospel with
The smartest thing I’ve ever done: Asking my boss out on a date—she later became my wife (and she’s still the boss today)!
The best way to pray for me: To have wisdom in leading our church to pray for missions, to give to missions, and to go on mission. Pray that I would depend on God and not on my own strength.
