Prayer Ministry

Current Series

Thank you so much for praying for the staff and ministries of CFBC.  Praying taps us into the resources of a sovereign and loving God. “Nothing is impossible with God!”

This avenue of technology allows us to unite our hearts in believing prayer without ever leaving our homes or offices.  I believe it is God’s purpose to bring overflowing joy to His body through answered prayer.

John records Jesus saying to His disciples: “Hitherto you have asked nothing in my Name, ask and you shall receive that your joy may be full” (John 16:24).  What could bring more joy to our lives that to know that God is moving in answer to our prayers?  What a privilege!  Please take whatever time our Lord affords you to peruse these requests and lift them up to the Lord in intercession.

Jesus encourages us in prayer with these words: “If two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything you shall ask, it shall be done for them by my Father in heaven” (Matthew 18:19).  Remember that prayer is not the process of overcoming God’s reluctance, but rather it is the adventure of laying hold of God’s willingness.  He says to us: “You have not because you ask not.”  Let’s not be guilty of not asking.

Someone has said that the greatest prayer tragedy is the tragedy of unoffered prayers.  May your heart be encouraged and blessed as you intercede for the needs on this page.

CURRENT PRAYER REQUESTS

Tommy Vinson, 1/12
• Pray as I do the research and preparation for the series: “If God is good, then why” beginning on Feb. 19. I so want this to be a helpful study on this crucial subject. It is one of the most difficult I have even sought to preach in forty three years as a pastor. As Major Thomas used to say: “I can’t, He never said I could. He can, He always said He would!”
• Pray for the participants and leaders in this semester’s Heart Life ministry. This ministry reminds me that we here at CFBC are not a “hotel” for saints, but a “hospital “ for sinners.

Tim Spencer, 1/16
• Pray that choir members will respond to the worship calling week in and week out
• Pray that new choir members will experience the call to worship in the coming months
• Pray for the “Into All the World” presentation on Sunday, February 5th
• Pray for Sharon Coffman as she leads our Student Ensemble
• Pray for anointed worship each Sunday

Steve Davis, 1/17
• Pray for Steve Davis as he contacts adults and students to invite them to this Spring’s Praise Orchestra
• Pray for the orchestra as they prepare for "Into All the World" on February 5th, "Then and There" on April 1st and special Spring orchestra presentations and community concerts

Laura Junkins, 1/17
• Pray for Laura Junkins and CFBC children’s choir leaders as they prepare to record music for their children's CD this Winter and Spring
