I started working for CFBC: September 27, 2010
My family: Wife, Erin, Casie-8, Reagan-7, Audrey-4, Caleb-3, Ryan-6 months
My role at CFBC: My role is to lead students and help parents be conformed to the image of Christ. I want students to be transformed by the renewal of their minds through intentional discipleship, relational community and the powerful presence of the living God in their lives. I want to see students change the world for Jesus Christ.
Personal story: After I surrendered to vocational ministry as a junior in high school, I was asked to be the student pastor during Youth Week. This meant I was called upon to preach the Wednesday evening message to the entire church. The sermon lasted six minutes, and it was probably the worst sermon I have ever preached. Thank God for sanctification.
Favorite book of the Bible: Ephesians
Recent books I’ve enjoyed: Total Church by Steve Timmis, The Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer and The Stranger on the Road to Emmaeus by John R. Cross
Most fulfilling part of my job: To know that every person to whom I minister, every message I preach, every new friend I make and every day that I work has eternal significance and is for the glory of Jesus Christ and His kingdom
Places of service available in my ministry: Teach, disciple, mentor students, prayer partners, host homes, after-school activities, hanging out with students
Spiritual gifts: Administration, teaching and evangelism
My hobbies: Traveling, computers, history, sports, reading, whatever my wife and children want to do
I hope heaven includes: Unlimited chocolate, a grand tour of God’s universe, a chance to ride a tyrannosaurus rex
The smartest thing I’ve ever done: Surrendering my life to my Lord Jesus Christ and marrying my wife Erin
The best way to pray for me: Pray that I will love the Lord with all of my heart, soul and mind, and that I will make that love known to all who know me
